I just found out I'll be stationed in Las Vegas for my next assignment. I've been following the housing market in the news during my time in Europe, and it seems like no one knows when the bottom will occur! Realtytimes is a great site I stumbled upon for researching the current trends in the Vegas valley. Another one I've skimmed over which includes a lot of weekly data such as days of supply and median prices is NARREIA.
I'm not sure yet whether we will be buying or renting, but hopefully while we are there we can find a good deal or two!

First Blog!
I'll start off with a few things about myself. I'm an active duty Air Force member in my late 20's, newly married, and getting ready to head back to the States for my next assignment. I have been serving in Europe for the past three years, and have been in the military for just over four. When I graduated from University, I had no debt, but very little in personal savings. My degree was in finance, and I'm very interested in personal finance and obviously the military aspect as that is where I draw my income.
I have set a few monetary goals for myself, as it is obviously difficult to get rich serving in the military. My short term goal is to have a net worth of $300,000 by the age of 30, and medium range is $1,000,000 by the age of 40. I'm skeptical at this point if I can make the first, but I'm much more confident in the second.
My hope is that this blog will help me interact more with like minded individuals looking to broaden their knowledge on investing and military money matters in general, thanks for visiting!
